League Rules - Reminders and Clarifications:

  • Lane times:
    • We have been running late every week. I'm not sure what it is this year, but we all need to make sure we start practice by 5:15pm and our first game by 5:30pm. We technically only have the lanes until 7:15pm.
    • Please keep this in mind as sometimes there are other bowlers/leagues that may need to use the lanes next to us or the lanes we are on.
  • Tardy Bowlers:
    • If your team has a tardy bowler, please start bowling anyways (unless both teams agree to wait).
    • The tardy bowler will have up to the third frame to join before they are marked absent for that game and an absent score must be used.
    • The tardy bowler may join for the second and third games.
  • Absent Team:
    • If your entire team will be absent, you must notify a league officer no less than 24 hours prior to our start time (before Wednesday at 5:30pm).
      • Names and numbers are listed at the top of each standings sheet.
      • Notices less than 24 hours; It is at the league officers' discretion whether or not to allow the team to make up their games.
      • Absent teams that do not give more that a 24 hour notice will be considered a forfeit, no makeup games will be allowed and no points will be awarded.
    • Emergencies will not count against a team and make up games shall be allowed.
  • Makeup Games:
    • You may make up your missed game before our regular scheduled bowling time. Call Plaza Lanes to schedule a time to make up your games.
    • If there is an emergency, you may make up your games that immediate weekend following the normally scheduled bowling night.
    • Once you've scheduled your make up games, please let the secretary know when you'll be bowling and when you've completed your games so they can be entered.

Other News and Information
Watch the clock!! Lanes open for practice at 5:15pm, or should be open. If not, ask the counter to turn them on. Practice time is 15 minutes, and the lanes should switch over to game play at 5:30. Our contract with Plaza says we should be off the lanes (at least done with Game 3) by 7:15pm.

If you bring in new bowler (sub or replacement), please please PLEASE give your secretary advance notice. It takes time to look up their average, get their handicap, enter them in the scoring system, and go over the certification card with them. I'd much rather do that in advance, instead of taking up your team's time and mine (and our opponents) and delaying us all from bowling. Thanks for your cooperation.

Officer Elections: Nominations for a new league secretary were made at the 2014 end of season banquet. Ryan Marino was re-elected as league secretary and has accepted the position. Therefore, this year's officers will be the same as last year for 2014-2015.

Team roster check: Discussed who was leaving, and how many open spots we have. Looks like we have 12 active teams. Still have a couple Vacant spots that can be filled. Please ask friends, neighbors, your kids' friends' parents, etc to see if anyone you know would be interested in joining us.

House rule reminders: Reviewed the house rules with all league menbers present. I can get a copy of the house rules for you if you need it.

League Rules: Discussed the issues/concerns that we had last year with the house/lanes.Changes will be incorporated into this year's league rules document, which is accessible from this web site's home page.
